Very good book from her stepbrother's point of viewAs the author's step-brother, I felt this was a very good book that helped me get to know my step-sister better. It is also a very good description of life in those days. A heart felt description of a part of her life.

Essential New York
Published in Paperback by Passport Books (April, 1994)
Average review score:

Brief and helpful.I used this book (an older edition) on my first trip to New York City and I found it very succinct and helpful. If you don't want lengthy descriptions and lots of historical background, this the book for you. It gets to the point about some of the "must sees" and "shouldn't miss", as well as warning you about some cultural differences. The Essential series is also great because it's thin and lightweight, yet some color pictures so that you can recognize some of the sites you're searching the skyline for.

Etiquette: Charlotte Ford's Guide to Modern Manners
Published in Hardcover by Clarkson N. Potter (October, 1990)
Average review score:

What more could you ask for?In my opinon, this is an etiquette "bible". If you buy only one etiquette book this year, make it this one. You won't need any others! This book covers it all. The book is broken down into sections - "Entertaining", "Weddings","Parenting" etc. Then more detailed chapters answer all your questions. This book is indispensible!

A great resource!A thorough, detail-packed reference book that's invaluable for anyone connected with the fashion industry. We have found it to be the best "first place to turn" for terms and descriptions that add insight and excitement to the marketing messages we create for our fashion clients.

Fingerprints and Talking Bones: How Real-Life Crimes Are Solved
Published in Hardcover by Bantam Books (June, 1997)
Average review score:

Fingerprints and Talking Bones.I did my review on Fingerprints and Talking Bones. It`s how real-life crimes are sloved. From geting the clue to U.S. crime facts this is a very good book. I recommend this book for ages 10 and up. It tells you storys of cases that was sloved related to that clue. For ex. it may say cats and have a story on how a crime was solved with the help of a cat. That is why I give this book 4 stars.

Flavors of Hungary; [recipes and memoirs]
Published in Unknown Binding by 101 Productions; [distributed by Scribner, New York] ()
Average review score:

A delightful little cookbook of Hungarian dishes .I bought this book 25 years ago when it was first published. At the time I had a friend from Budapest who said it met with his approval. The receipe for the poppy-seed & nut rolls produces pastry that is far superior to the same articles offered in delis & gourmet shops.

Framework for Excellence: A Resource Manual for Nlp
Published in Paperback by Metamorphous Press (01 December, 1990)
Average review score:

AN excellent resourceThis book has as much NLP packed into it as any NLP book I've come across. Language patterns, Stratagies, states, Calibration, it's all there. It's only problem is that unless you already know the jargon, many of the descriptions may be to brief. Still for anyone who knows NLP and wants to have it all in one place, an excellent buy.

Enhancing Professional Practice: A Framework for Teaching
Published in Paperback by Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development (15 November, 1996)
The book is dominated by the Architecture section, which is filled with mostly b&w (some color) photos, floorplans and useful information about the structure, the architect and the interior design. The remaining sections, all much smaller, offer examples of the pieces, their designers, measurments, materials, distributors and countries of origin. The overall layouts of these sections, while pleasing to eye, are presented in a very confuseing manner. The description of each item is numbered, but instead of numbering each photo, a "key" is offered (in a different spot on each page), which maps out the number of each photo. Furthermore, the book goes for pages at a time without page-numbers, rendering the index difficult to use.
Overall, the book presents many interesting pieces of 70's design and includes works by all the usual suspects, along with some unusual ones. I would have liked to have seen sections devoted to plastics (some of which can be found in the furniture section) and electronics (completely missing in action), but overall I am not complaining. If you are a fan of books such as "Italy: The New Domestic Landscape" and "L'utopie du Tout Plastique" you are likely to enjoy this one as well!
